Back to Nature

“Nature is the purest portal to inner-peace.” -Angie Weiland-Crosby

There is something so grounding about the beach. Just putting your bare feet in the sand seems to ignite a sense of rejuvenation. When you look out into the water, it never ceases to amaze me that this world is a mystical place. We know that being outside is essential for health and well-being. The outdoors is a natural source of Vitamin D, helps to lower blood pressure, relieves stress, strengthens immunity, sharpens your focus, calms the mind, and has even been known to increase longevity.

It’s no wonder the spring and summer months have such a profound effect on people’s happiness and motivation. Just the simple act of going outside for a walk can do wonders for your psyche. I always recommend to my patients to move outdoors and get some natural sun. Two of the best times to do this is early morning to ground yourself with nature before the day starts, and in the evening – preferably post dinner to wind down before bedtime.

And, if you are lucky enough to be close to a beach, there is something very inspiring about watching the water and observing a sunset or sunrise.

I make it a point to get outside as often as I can, and use the summer months to slow down and do some of the things that make me whole. It’s so important to break your routine and discover new things. It keeps things exciting, fresh and gives you something to look forward to.

So, happy beginning of summer to all. I wish you those special moments that reminds us of all that life has to offer.
