For co-pays, fees, and balances not covered by insurance, Dr. Comizio’s office accepts payments in the form of cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Care Credit. While cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance companies, procedures such as breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and any revisions related to breast reconstruction are covered by most insurance companies, and we will help you navigate the process and advocate on your behalf for procedures that are deemed medically necessary.
Insurance Participation
Dr. Comizio currently accepts and participates in-network with many of the state’s largest insurance providers including many plans with:
- Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Aetna
- Cigna
- United Health Care
- Oxford
Dr. Comizio is proud to be an in-network provider to limit her patients’ out-of-pocket expenses when dealing with medically necessary procedures. Because Dr. Comizio is an in-network surgeon, Dr. Comizio’s patients incur no hidden out of pocket costs related to their procedures.
Patient Responsibility
While our office does accept several different types of insurance, it is the patient’s responsibility to know whether their insurance plan has a:
- Deductible
- Co-insurance
- Out-of-network benefits
It is also important that the patient understands what the insurance company requires for coverage of a given procedure. Understanding insurance coverage can be very confusing to patients. We are committed to making this process as straight forward and efficient as possible.
Insurance Plans Not In-Network
If you belong to an insurance plan that we are not listed with as an in-network provider, you can still be treated by us but the costs will fall under your out-of-network benefits. In this case, we will do the best we can to provide reasonable pricing and transparent billing.
