“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.” – Lady Bird Johnson
The excitement in the change of seasons is palpable. The weather is warmer, the grass is getting greener and the flowers are starting to bloom. The energy is contagious. As the first day of spring approaches on March 19th, we are officially entering a new chapter as we say goodbye to the long winter.
We all celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th. It seem this year, it was recognized on a bigger scale, with more awareness. It’s a day where we celebrated women’s achievements across the globe. Women have made remarkable progress over the years, from being in the background to truly transitioning to the limelight. It was a day powered by the collective efforts of all including the action and shared ownership for driving gender parity. It was a day where women came together to make a positive difference for women and live in the essence of hope.
I am grateful on a daily basis of having the gift of being a recognized female physician in the field of plastic surgery. I see the life-changing difference among my patients who chose to put themselves first and prioritize their physical and mental health. It gives them back their power. We have to continue to remember that we are given this one life to make our mark and to maximize our potential. And as women join forces across the globe, it becomes an even more impactful mission.
This spring is an opportunity to be motivated by what excites you and to take on challenges in front of you. Let’s spring into action and get energized by what we offer the world on an individual level. Watching women achieve, and bloom and make an impact is a great inspiration to all.
Let’s be inspired by each other.
