Prior to your first visit to the office, you will be greeted over the phone by our knowledgeable and friendly office staff, who will answer any questions you would like to ask. This can help ease any concerns you may have and help you understand more about specific procedures before coming in for an initial visit. Your follow-up consultation in the office will provide detailed information about treatment and procedure options with Dr. Comizio.
What To Bring
After scheduling your consultation over the phone, you will be provided instructions on how to print required paperwork that you can fill out at home before your appointment. If you are unable to complete the paperwork before your visit, please arrive ten to fifteen minutes before your appointment to complete it in the office.
At the beginning of your consultation, Dr. Comizio will go through your detailed medical history to screen for any conditions that may pose an additional risk for surgery. Helpful information to mention during this conversation would be:
- Any medications you are currently taking.
- Supplements or vitamins that you take regularly.
- Chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.
- Records from previous surgical procedures.
- Any implant information.
- Mammogram or other breast imaging reports.
- Allergies to medications and anesthesia.
- Lifestyle choices such as smoking.
While many patients can still undergo surgery if they have medical conditions, Dr. Comizio may need to take certain precautions during surgery. If you smoke, you will be asked to abstain at least 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure.
How Long Is My First Visit?
Your visit will take between forty-five minutes to a little over an hour. During this time, you will have the chance to ask Dr. Comizio any questions that you have about the procedure and create a treatment plan that will act as her guide if you decide to undergo surgery. This first visit gives you insight into Dr. Comizio’s approach and helps determine if you would like to take the next steps for scheduling a procedure.
