“Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.” – Chris Grosser
Spring has officially sprung! The flowers are blooming, the grass is greener, and the weather is warmer (last week a little too warm!). It is a time of new beginnings and new opportunities.
This month we celebrate the outdoors with Earth Day, National Arbor Day, National Garden Month, Keep America Beautiful Month and National Wildlife Week. It all translates to growth and renewal. It reminds me of how miraculous it is to watch the transitions of the seasons and that things that seem to be dormant once again come alive. It seems our lives go through similar transitions. We experience times of slowing down and then times of excitement and motivation, and it all seems to balance out. Those times we get inspired are critical to these cycles as we realize so many opportunities await us, and we can create them by simply taking action.
The energy we feel in the spring mimics the energy we put towards things that excite us. This time of the year, I always start to feel exceptionally ambitious. I get inspired to try new things and to reconnect with people. The longer days and additional sunlight cause me to be more active and give me a renewed confidence.
I am motivated by the new growth and encouraged by what’s to come in the future. If you have time this spring, spend a few extra moments taking in the newness of the season and finding things that inspire you. It might just translate to your own growth and new opportunities.
