National Beautiful Day

“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be touched, they must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller
I stumbled on the most incredible find…November 20th is National Beautiful Day. Although the origin is unknown, the sentiment is heart-warming.
This day is recognized as a day to appreciate the beauty in the world. It is a day to acknowledge the things that you find beautiful – not in just an aesthetic way, but in a way that warms your heart and soul.
It’s an opportunity to seek the beauty in every ordinary detail. As the saying goes, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, so it is up to you to find the things you gravitate toward. You can find beauty in a beautiful sight, scene or even just a gesture.
The significance to me is to stop and appreciate all of the things in my life that give me joy. And how apropos it is in the month of November where we all gather to be grateful at Thanksgiving. I appreciate the beauty I see in my patients, the energy I feel from my staff on a daily basis and the beauty of the love for my family.
We live in a very confusing and challenging time. It’s up to us to find and spread the beauty in every day joys.
